Wimbly Lu @ Jalan Riang

 |

When I first stumbled upon the Instagram photo of the pretty fairy lights of Wimbly Lu some days ago, I thought to myself "I have to visit this place soon!"

See, I'm a person who love rustic-scandinavian-nordic decors, fairy lights, coffee, and desserts, which is why I had to try out Wimbly Lu Chocolate Cafe. Because it is one of the few places which provides my kind of cosy ambience, with very affordable desserts and coffee. Best of all, it is relatively near my office, which means that I can pop by after work to have some "Me Time" over my favorite Mocha.

I love the pretty fairy lights!

Cafe Mocha ($5.50)

Having tried good and high quality mocha from my favorite cafe - Monsta cafe, which is located at Malaysia, it was difficult to find a mocha of similar standards in Singapore. But after trying out Wimbly Lu's Cafe Mocha, my eyes lit up and immediately, I told the fiance "Dear, I've found it."

Yes, it was literally that dramatic.

Root Beer Cake with Vanilla Ice-Cream ($6.00)

For dessert, we ordered Root Beer Cake with Vanilla Ice-Cream which was one of it's kind. Kudos to the innovative idea of mixing Root Beer in Cake, because it truly appeals to the tastebuds of those who have a sweet tooth!

However, I felt that the dessert could be better served in a bigger dish because it was quite tough to eat in a martini glass. Everything felt as though it was going to fall off the glass, and there wasn't enough to contain the cake and ice-cream, especially, when the ice-cream started to melt.

But that aside, I really love the cosy ambience, the rich cup of mocha, the delicious desserts, and will definitely come back again. Suffice to say, I think I have found my cosy corner, where I can unwind with a good cup of coffee and a book or magazine.
